Sycamore second graders explore the shore

Sycamore Avenue Elementary School second graders took their learning outdoors during a visit to Sunken Meadow State Park.
Students in Mrs. Kaczorek and Mrs. Stopsky’s classes participated in the BOCES Outdoor Environmental Education Program, where they explored the park’s coastal environment firsthand. At the salt marsh, students observed fish and crabs before heading to the beach for a scavenger hunt.
Students searched the shoreline for shells, horseshoe crab shells and other coastal finds, giving them an up-close look at the environment they were exploring.
