Sycamore kindergarteners found a sweet way to practice their math skills with a hands-on apple tasting activity. Students sampled different varieties of apples and voted for their favorites before working together to create a class graph showing the results. Once the votes were counted, students used the graph to compare which varieties received the most and fewest votes and explore the differences between each total.

The activity brought several early math concepts together, giving students the opportunity to practice counting, comparing quantities and interpreting data while using their own class results.
