Inaugural Community Leadership Awards honors 37 students

On June 11, Student Services held its first annual Community Leadership Award Ceremony, proudly sponsored by the Long Island Coalition Against Bullying (LICAB).
Student Services celebrated 37 outstanding students from kindergarten through 12th grade who were recognized as Connetquot Caring Leaders during the 2025-2026 school year. These students exemplify kindness, compassion, empathy, and leadership, serving as positive role models within our school community.
The Connetquot Central School District is committed to fostering students' Emotional Awareness and Social Learning (EASL). Through this initiative, monthly character education themes are highlighted to help create a school climate and culture that supports the well-being of every member of our community. These themes provide meaningful opportunities for students to develop social and emotional awareness while building a culture of connection.
Throughout the year, schools nominate students who demonstrate these values in action. These caring leaders are recognized with a certificate, and their framed photographs are proudly displayed on the Kindness Wall of Fame in Student Services. Dr. Pisani's vision was to fill the walls of Student Services with photographs of student leaders as a reminder that, if you can be anything in the world, be kind. That vision has come to life, and to date, 50 students have been inducted into the Wall of Fame.
To our students: we celebrate not only your accomplishments as caring leaders, but also the positive impact you have on those around you. Your actions remind us that leadership begins with kindness and that even small acts of compassion can make a profound difference.
We congratulate all of our caring leaders. We are incredibly proud of you, grateful for your example, and excited to honor your achievements.
We also extend our sincere gratitude to Joseph Salamone, Founder and Executive Director of the Long Island Coalition Against Bullying (LICAB). LICAB has emerged as a pioneering organization that fiercely advocates for children and families affected by bullying. Mr. Salamone's tireless work has positively impacted many Long Island schools by strengthening bullying prevention initiatives and educational programs.
Connetquot is fortunate to partner closely with LICAB in developing and supporting initiatives that promote kindness, respect, and inclusion throughout our school community. Mr. Salamone's unwavering dedication to our students is deeply appreciated, and we thank LICAB for its generosity in sponsoring this award ceremony.
Mr. Salamone presented each caring leader with a LICAB Community Leadership Award, a scholarship, and a certificate of recognition.
