Connetquot is red, white and blue for America’s 250th anniversary

Throughout June, schools across Connetquot celebrated America’s 250th anniversary with a variety of activities centered on the theme “Out of Many, One.”
Students explored the nation’s history through hands-on projects, presentations and creative activities. Some researched influential American figures and shared their findings with classmates, while others learned about American symbols and created patriotic artwork, essays and poems. Along the way, students gained a deeper appreciation for the people, events and ideals that have shaped the United States.
The celebrations took place during the first two weeks of June as each school hosted an America 250-themed spirit week. Students showed their patriotic pride through themed dress-up days and special activities, including assemblies which featured musical performances, presentations and skits.
From classroom lessons and creative projects to spirited schoolwide events, students across the district came together to learn, reflect and celebrate the nation’s upcoming 250th birthday.
