RMS Soul Singers go behind-the-scenes on Broadway

The Ronkonkoma Middle School Soul Singers, under the direction of Jenna Micalizzi, traveled to New York City for an exciting and memorable field trip. Students participated in a Broadway masterclass led by performer Daryl Tofa (“The Outsiders”, “Back to the Future”, “Mean Girls”) and Andrea Yohe, Assistant Music Director of “The Outsiders”.
During the workshop, students learned the vocals and choreography to “Grease Got a Hold” from the hit Broadway musical “The Outsiders” and were deeply motivated by the experience. The day also included lunch in the city followed by the opportunity to enjoy the 2 p.m. matinee performance of “The Outsiders” on Broadway. The experience gave students unforgettable insight into the world of musical theater and created memories that will last a lifetime.
