Connetquot covers healthy habits from A to zen during districtwide Wellness Days

Connetquot schools spent the month of May celebrating Wellness Days with activities that promoted healthy minds, active bodies and positive habits.
At the elementary level, students spent their Wellness Days exploring what it means to care for their minds and bodies through a wide variety of interactive experiences. Activities blended movement and mindfulness, from KidStrong athletic play, yoga (including “laugh yoga”!), Brazilian jiu jitsu, Zumba and Kerboom Kidz dance fitness to meditation, nature scavenger hunts, guided painting, nutrition games, positive sidewalk chalk writing and making mindfulness crafts. High school Positive Psychology students also partnered with younger learners to reinforce mindfulness and grit strategies.
Middle school students participated in wellness fairs featuring interactive stations focused on healthy habits and stress management. Activities included “fun with fidgets,” calm coloring, zen garden tending and healthy food sampling, along with lessons on mindfulness and making positive choices.
At the high school, students attended Northwell Health presentations on coping skills and stress management and visited community resource tables. The day also included wellness raffle baskets, nutritious food samples and giveaways.
Across all levels, Connetquot’s Wellness Days gave students opportunities to build practical tools for supporting their overall well-being.
