Cherokee Street students serve up skills with popcorn cart

Students in Ms. Gibaldi’s class at Cherokee Street Elementary transformed a simple snack into a hands-on learning experience with their Popcorn Cart, delivering popcorn to teachers throughout the school while practicing valuable, real-world skills.
As part of the initiative, students rotate through roles such as greeter, cashier, delivery helper and stock assistant, with each position providing opportunities to build communication skills, teamwork and responsibility while interacting with staff members across the school. The activity also reinforces functional math skills and helps students gain confidence in social interactions through meaningful, everyday experiences.
