Making Words Matter at Ronkonkoma Middle School

Representatives from the Long Island Coalition Against Bullying visited Ronkonkoma Middle School’s seventh grade social studies classes to facilitate a discussion on “The Power of Words.” 

Through thoughtful conversation and reflection, students explored the impact that language can have on others and the important role their words play in shaping a positive, inclusive school environment.  

Students were encouraged to consider how their words and actions can make a difference by showing kindness and lifting one another up. This valuable experience reinforced the importance of choosing our words thoughtfully and recognizing the power each of us has to make others feel respected, supported, and valued.
