Connetquot's Caring Leader for February
Congratulations to February’s Caring Leader, Emaline Myers, a third grader at Bosti Elementary, who exemplifies this month’s EASL theme of acceptance!
“Emaline has gone above and beyond to demonstrate the trait of acceptance by supporting a new student within her class who is learning English. Emaline has gone out of her way to find ways to connect with this student despite the language barrier, to include her, and to help her to adjust to a new school setting. Emaline is patient and helpful in explaining new words or concepts and is always willing to stand up for her new friend. Emaline even signed up for Spanish class during her lunch time in order to improve her communication with her new friend. Due to Emaline's support the new student has been able to have a smooth transition to Bosti and has been making strides in improving her English as well. We are so proud of Emaline for demonstrating how to be an accepting and supportive friend to a new student!” – school social worker Ms. Carpentieri.
