Board of Education celebrates Teacher of the Year and fall athletic achievements

At its Feb. 10 meeting, the Connetquot Board of Education recognized Michelle Goodwin, an English teacher at Connetquot High School, for earning the prestigious Suffolk Region PTA Teacher of the Year award. Ms. Goodwin was honored for her dedication to her students and for being an outstanding asset to the entire Connetquot community. Her commitment to academic excellence and student success continues to make a meaningful impact both inside and outside the classroom.
In addition, the Board celebrated the accomplishments of Connetquot High School’s fall athletes and teams. Congratulations were extended to the girls varsity volleyball team and the boys varsity volleyball team for each being named Suffolk County Champions. The Board also recognized the girls swimming and diving athletes who qualified for the New York State championships.
Individual honors were also highlighted. Emily Anderson was recognized for being named the Suffolk County Goaltender of the Year, and Avery Melchiona was celebrated for earning the titles of Suffolk County Champion and New York State Qualifier in gymnastics.
The Connetquot community congratulates Ms. Goodwin and these exceptional student-athletes for their remarkable achievements and for representing the district with excellence!
