Weather comes alive at Bosti with Sam’s Weather School

Bosti students explored the science of weather during a visit from Emmy Award-winning meteorologist Samantha Augeri and her interactive program, Sam’s Weather School. Students learned about weather systems, including tornadoes and hurricanes, through hands-on demonstrations designed to make meteorology fun and accessible.
During the visit, students learned how meteorologists predict the weather and why accurate forecasting is so important. They even stepped into the role of meteorologists themselves, delivering a weekly weather report in front of a green screen.
Through exciting experiments, such as creating a “tornado in a box” using dry ice, and examining real weather tools, students gained a deeper understanding of how weather forms and how scientists study it.
