Ahead of the 2024-25 school year, Connetquot’s administrators, teachers and staff members gathered at Connetquot High School on Aug. 28 for Superintendent’s Conference Day. Led by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Joseph Centamore, district faculty and staff took part in two days of professional development, preparation and camaraderie. The conference began with a breakfast to welcome back all staff members. Both Dr. Centamore and the board of education served breakfast, while staffers had the chance to catch up and connect over their meals. Following the breakfast, Dr. Centamore delivered an enthusiastic and heartwarming welcome message, encouraging staff to lean on one another and embrace change as a positive. After his address, Director of Security Donald Flynn gave a presentation on safety and security, Director of Instructional Technology Elizabeth Weis introduced the Parent Square platform and special education coordinators spoke on classroom strategies. Following the presentations, attendees broke out for individual classroom preparation. Building principals and curriculum directors also led faculty, department and grade-level meetings, as needed, to prepare staff for the start of the school year.
