Fourth grade students at Idle Hour Elementary School created a Native American “museum” with handmade items after studying Native American heritage and culture.

With parents and loved ones in attendance, students explained the history of the Iroquois tribe and the similarities between the Iroquois government and our nation’s present-day government. Students then showcased their handmade creations, from masks to models of villages and longhouses, fishing traps and poles, a papoose, wampum belt, bow and arrows and more. Each student acted as a museum guide, explaining the significance and history of the item they’d made.
