Mr. Gelardi and his team from the Department of Environmental Conservation visited Ms. Sullivan’s seventh grade science class, bringing along tree cross sections for students to investigate. During the visit, students deepened their understanding of photosynthesis and tree growth while also reinforcing math skills such as measuring, averaging and calculating circumference. To make the experience even more memorable, they were joined by special guest, Darwin, an Australian blue-tongued skink!
