This summer, Connetquot is hosting its first-ever technology department internship program for high school students. This exciting new program offers select student-interns the opportunity to gain real-world, hands-on experience alongside Connetquot’s skilled technology technicians. The internship was made possible through a collaboration between the district’s technology department, Director of Instructional Technology Elizabeth Weis, Technology Coordinator Scott Halford and Connetquot’s Work Based Experience Coordinator Michelle Rapone. Throughout the internship, students will be exposed to a wide range of technology systems that keep Connetquot’s schools running smoothly, including device imaging and deployment, printer and network troubleshooting, help desk ticket resolution and inventory management systems. “The internship gives students an authentic look into the day-to-day responsibilities of an educational technology department and allows them to build valuable skills they can carry into future careers,” said Director of Instructional Technology Elizabeth Weis. “We’re thrilled to open our doors and share this experience with our students.” Thank you to all of the dedicated technology department staff members serving as mentors and cooperating technicians! Your guidance and willingness to support student learning make this program possible and impactful. We look forward to seeing the growth of our student-interns as they begin this unique professional journey!
