The New York Islander’s mascot, Sparky the Dragon, visited Edward J. Bosti Elementary for a special assembly. Joined by assembly host Denise Gonzalez, Sparky taught students about teamwork as well as ways to get active and form healthy habits.

A fun presentation with question-and-answer prompts led students to a better understanding of why making healthy choices matters. Then, in a hands-on teamwork challenge, a student and teacher raced to dress in full goalie equipment. Only, the student had help in putting on his own, showing that teamwork always leads to a better outcome.
