The Connetquot High School chapter of the Tri-M Music Honor Society recently inducted 44 new members from grades nine through 12 during a special ceremony. In order to be inducted, students had to meet certain criteria, including maintaining a GPA of 90 or above and a music class average of 95 or above. They had to be enrolled in one or more music ensembles and perform in a New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) solo. They also had to write a personal essay about why music matters to them. The ceremony began with a warm welcome from Tri-M Music Honor Society adviser Nicole White, followed by opening greetings from Director of Fine Arts and Music Education Vincent Malafronte. President Mia Lange then gave the ceremony presentation and continuing members spoke on behalf of the new member’s impressive credentials and character traits. The ceremony culminated with the new inductees reciting the Tri-M oath before being called to the stage and awarded a certificate of recognition. Date Added: 10/11/2023
