The Ronkonkoma Middle School chapter of the National Junior Honor Society recently inducted 56 new members during a special ceremony. The ceremony opened with a warm welcome and words of wisdom from Principal Joseph Licato followed by opening remarks from adviser Aimee Fossa.

The National Junior Honor Society serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship. During the ceremony, officers Alyssa Rosati (president), Jessica Patanjo (vice president), Catherine Jalloh (secretary), Adriana Mileti (treasurer) and Ella Zangre (public relations) lit candles, symbolizing the aforementioned pillars.

The ceremony culminated with the new inductees being called individually to the stage and being awarded a certificate of recognition.
