Naviance/Common Application Matching Process

 

  • All Connetquot High School students using the Common App MUST complete the Common App Matching Process to link the Common App to Naviance Student.

IMPORTANT:  Your Naviance Student email must be used for the Common App.  If you want to change your email address in Naviance, please see a secretary in the Counseling Center or Mr. Macaluso.

 

5-STEP PROCESS TO MATCH YOUR COMMON APP ACCOUNT TO NAVIANCE:

 

STEP 1:

Open your web browser (Explore, Chrome) and go to www.commonapp.org.

 

STEP 2:

Create a Common App account. If you have already registered for the Common App, login and enter your email address and password.

 

  • New Common App account users should complete all the required fields.

 

  • You must use the same student email address that you use for Naviance.

 

STEP 3:

You must complete the following tasks before you can match your account in Naviance Student.

 

  • Task 1 – complete current or most recent school section located under the Common App tab.
    • Make sure you choose Connetquot High School for school currently attending.

       

  • Task 2 – Click on College Search Tab and add at least one college to your MyColleges List.You can search for colleges and universities by filling in the name of the school and click the search button.

     

  • Task 3 – Read and sign the FERPA Release Authorization.

 

STEP 4:

Now that you have completed the initial steps on the Common App you must login to Naviance to match your Common App account and begin managing your college applications.

 

  • Task 1 – Click on Colleges at the top of the page and then click on the link for Colleges I’m Applying To.

     

  • Task 2 – Select the Match Accounts tab located on the red bar across the top of the page.

     

  • Task 3 – Enter the email address and your date of birth that you used to set up your Common App account.It must be the same for both the Common App and Naviance.
    • Make sure the last name on your Naviance profile matches the last name used to create your Common App account.
    • Make sure your date of birth on your Naviance profile matches our date of birth on your Common App account.
    • You are now ready to click Match Accounts.

 

STEP 5:

Review the College Application list by clicking on Colleges and then click on the link Colleges I’m Applying To.

 

The matching process is now complete.
