On Feb. 5, Oakdale-Bohemia Middle Schoolers cheered on their teachers as they raced for a great cause. Donning hilarious inflatable costumes, nearly 20 teachers, staff and administrators competed in a relay race fundraiser, raising money for the school’s “Kids Inspiring a New Direction” or K.I.N.D. program. The competition was fierce as teachers faced off in an obstacle course featuring a mini trampoline, scooters and a tunnel, followed by ball-and-spoon races and a basketball shootout.

Created by the school’s counselors, the K.I.N.D Program promotes kindness, positivity, connection and acceptance at the middle school, putting on a variety of events throughout the year to encourage a supportive and fun atmosphere for students and staff alike.
