Connetquot Central School District’s fifth graders are ready to embark on their middle school journeys! Throughout the month of June, students at Edward J. Bosti, Cherokee Street, Helen B. Duffield, Idle Hour, John Pearl, Edith L. Slocum and Sycamore Avenue elementary schools celebrated their graduation milestones with moving-up ceremonies.

During each of the ceremonies, students received special awards, recognizing excellence throughout the year in academic subjects, music and arts, health and physical education and more. Both principals and student representatives addressed the audience of parents, loved ones and fellow classmates, reminiscing on all great experiences and memories shared during their time together.

As parents and special guests looked on proudly, students accepted their official moving-up certificates, signifying all they’d accomplished during their elementary years and their readiness for Oakdale-Bohemia and Ronkonkoma middle schools.
