On May 21, Connetquot High School's Broadcast Journalism class, Thunder Vision”, took first place in the Best Opening Segment category at the Broadcast Awards for Senior High, better known as the BASH Awards! The BASH Awards are held at the Lawrence Herbert School of Communication at Hofstra University.

Connetquot competed against 43 other high schools throughout all of Long Island and Westchester. In only its second year of production, the still-fledgling “Thunder Vision” went into the event hoping to place in any one of eight categories and came out a success.

Congratulations to broadcast journalism students Sarah Dempster, Victoria Eller, Jake Herting, Vincent Maraviglia, Jason McCloud, James Poulin and Chloe Young and their teachers Alan Fertmann and Ross Grandin!
